I had a very strange dream. There was this oval floating blob that had a veiny, orangey-pink glow. It was called a “votis mor.” It floated and chased a boy at his birthday party which took place in what seemed to be an abandoned department store. It basically wiped everyone out when they saw it and it couldn’t be killed. A man tried killing it with an arrow, but he died. It caused a black nothingness to come down like a theatre curtain from above and everything it touched disappeared. I woke up when the nothingness was about two feet from the floor, about to wipe out the main kid in my dream and his friend, who were lying on the floor, trying to escape the darkness that was coming down on them. I looked up votis mor when I woke up and it means “Death wish.” Why do I speak Latin, and how fucking creepy is that? #cinematicnightmare

I spent the morning deep cleaning the front porch; hauled out the old green indoor-outdoor carpet, wiped down all the dust, swept the floors and then made it cute as a reward for all that cleaning. Is 30 degrees now, so the kitties and I are spending the rest of the day right here. Lemonade and a book for me, total crashed-out nap time for them.
